We all are aware that insulin serves a very important function in our body. It helps us to remove sugar from our main bloodstream and store it in our cells for future use. However, if insulin offers these advantages, it has a set of disadvantages as well. For example, insulin is said to be the hormone responsible for making people gain weight fast as well as frustrating their attempts at weight loss.
Here is how insulin works: when we eat food, the glucose present in the food breaks down and passes into our main bloodstream. This is when insulin, a hormone produced by our pancreas, comes to our rescue by removing glucose from our blood and transferring it to its rightful place – that is, inside our cells. Why does insulin store glucose in our cells? So that this glucose can be used in future for the purpose of producing energy. So, how does insulin increase your body weight?
Well, the fault actually lies with our body rather than insulin. Given a choice, our body will always prefer to burn glucose over fat. If it sees that there is ample storage of glucose in the cells, it will use those to produce energy instead of burning fat. And there is only one reason behind it: our body wants to reserve fat so that it can use it in future, should it face famine or hunger. For example, if you fast, your body won’t have any access to glucose, which is when it will use your body fat to produce energy.
However, if you are overweight, you need to burn fat instead of glucose. And here is how you can literally ‘force’ your body to burn your body fat: Break your larger meals into severalsmaller meals.
Eat each small meal every two or three hours. This way, your body won’t have access to a large amount of glucose and at some point of time, it would be forced to burn your body fat for producing energy. Once your body begins burning fat, you will start losing weight.
Therefore, always eat less and in smaller portions. If you do so you should have no problems in losing weight quickly as well as efficiently.
So you are quite desperate about losing weight? You have admitted that no diet plan seems to work for you? Well, when it comes to weight loss, what mattersjust as much asdiet and exercise is what you drink and how frequently you drink it! Yes, the fluids you intake daily can affect your weight either positively or negatively. So the very first thing that you need to control is what you drink.
What do you drink everyday? Do you drink the minimum required amount of water? Remember that every human being, fat or thin, is required to drink at least eight glasses of water daily. Water not only helps you with fat loss, it also flushes all the toxins from your body.
Do you drink soda and coffee? If yes, then it is time to bid goodbye to them. Soda is harmful and detrimental for the heath of those who are overweight. You can of course drink soda occasionally in order to reward yourself for your weight loss efforts. As for coffee, it is a diuretic and dehydrates your body. The more you drink it, the more your body becomes dehydrated, leaving you dry. This is why you should say ‘no’ to coffee as well as soda; or at least, avoid them as much as possible.
A good alternative to coffee is green tea. Green tea not only gives you more energy than coffee, it is also free from caffeine. Green tea helps in increasing your energy as well as your metabolism rate at a tremendous speed. Some studies have shown that drinking three or four cups of green tea per day helps people lose fat.
Some people make the mistake of being partial to drinks that taste great. Often, preference is given to sweet drinks. Sweet drinks are, as you know, rich in sucrose and therefore bad for you. Our advice regarding this is simple: when it comes to drinks, think about what you are putting into your body, rather than how it tastes.
When you talk about losing weight, just about everyone seems to be talking about diet and exercise. Ever wondered if there are any other ways to lose weight? There is of course a way! It won’t replace diet and exercise, but it will actually force you to lose weight faster than diet and exercise alone!
One of the important things you need to know is that your body doesn’t have full control over your self. It is your mind that controls your thought process, and if you learn to train your mind, then weight loss won’t seem like a tedious task. And how do you train your mind? Obviously by using positive weight loss affirmations.
As a matter of fact, if you want to reach just about any type of goal, you need to train your mind to believe in it. And the best way to do that is to use the power of positive affirmations. And just about with any other type of affirmation, you will inevitably face a strong resistance in the form of negative thinking, and this is when you need to weed out those negative thoughts from your mind, indulge in positive thoughts and move on towards your weight lossgoal.
Don’t think that losing weight is too hard. If you have been following just about every workout or weight loss program out there without any success, it doesn’t mean that your body won’t let you lose weight. In fact, it has nothing to do with your body and everything to do with your state of mind. Once you re-program your mind to think otherwise, you will soon find that weight loss is very much an attainable goal.
You don’t need to spend a lot of time on affirmations. If you can, spend two or three minutes in writing positive weight loss affirmations. Then utter those affirmations everyday. Of course, you should be very much focused when uttering the affirmations. Uttering them thoughtlessly and mindlessly won’t have any effect on your weight loss.
When you want to lose weight, you surely need to follow a diet plan as well as exercise regularly. But at the same time you need to train your mind to believe that you can really reach your weight loss goal.
